# ETL: Connect OpenAI Codex to MCP

> Connect OpenAI Codex to the Integrate.io ETL MCP server through the mcp-remote bridge with a bearer token.

Codex speaks MCP over stdio, so it uses the [`mcp-remote`](https://www.npmjs.com/package/mcp-remote) bridge to reach the remote HTTP endpoint. For token detail, see [Authentication](https://www.integrate.io/docs/etl/mcp-authentication.md).

The endpoint is:

`https://api.xplenty.com/YOUR_ACCOUNT_ID/api/mcp`

Replace `YOUR_ACCOUNT_ID` with your account subdomain or numeric id (the value in your dashboard URL).

Add the server to `~/.codex/config.toml`:

```toml theme={null}
[mcp_servers.integrateio]
command = "npx"
args = [
  "-y",
  "mcp-remote",
  "https://api.xplenty.com/YOUR_ACCOUNT_ID/api/mcp",
  "--header",
  "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN"
]
```

Replace `YOUR_ACCOUNT_ID` with your account subdomain or numeric id and `YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN` with a Personal Access Token (see [Authentication](https://www.integrate.io/docs/etl/mcp-authentication.md)), then restart Codex.

> [!TIP]
>
> If you omit the `--header` line, `mcp-remote` falls back to OAuth browser sign-in instead of a static token, the same flow Claude Code uses. A Personal Access Token is the simpler choice for an always-on CLI because it does not expire after a couple of hours.

## Verify

Restart Codex and confirm the `integrateio` tools are listed. Trouble connecting? See [Troubleshooting](https://www.integrate.io/docs/etl/mcp-troubleshooting.md).
