# ETL: SHA256

> Calculate the SHA-256 cryptographic hash of a string value. Use SHA256 for secure hashing, data integrity, and token generation in ETL pipelines.

## Description

Calculates the SHA256 hash of a string

## Syntax

`SHA256(string_expression)`

## Examples

`SHA256('hello world')` returns b94d27...efcde9
