# ETL: UCFIRST

> Convert the first character of a string to uppercase while preserving the remaining characters. Use UCFIRST for text formatting in ETL pipelines.

## Description

Converts the first character in a string to upper case.

## Syntax

`UCFIRST(string_expression)`

## Examples

`UCFIRST('hello')` returns 'Hello'.
