AWS re:Invent is Amazon’s annual conference for Amazon Web Services and one of the top ETL events in the world. This year, more than 60,000 attendees spread across six different resort venues on the Las Vegas Strip. We happen to be one of those attendees.

As an Amazon Partner and consistent re:Invent attendee, we wanted to do something fun for this year's re:Invent.

We all know large events and conferences are- tiring, crowded, difficult to navigate, chaotic, that's why wanted to give attendees somewhere to relax and take a break from all the chaos! This is where World Mario Kart came to mind.

We set up a reserved lounge at The Bellagio where attendees could play Mario Kart, chat about the future of data and ETL, and hang out with the team. The people who win 1st place in Mario Kart would be entered to win a free trip to Tokyo to partake in real-life Mario Kart with the team!

We are proud to announce our winner this year was Shang Wei of Class Method! He won first place and was randomly drawn from a list of first place winners. Shang will be joining us sometime in 2020 to race around Tokyo on Mario Karts with our Tokyo team!

Are you going to AWS re:Invent next year? If so, don't miss your chance to enter the next Mario Kart competition! Follow us on twitter to stay up-to-date on all events!
